1. Volunteer Coordinator

We are looking to fill 3 positions with a Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman. The ideal student will be willing to make a commitment to continue in the role in subsequent years and have the ability to manage multiple priorities through strong organization skills and creativity.

Job description: Recruit and organize student volunteers, specifically:

• Connect students with opportunities to volunteer at the Ski Swap.
• Support Ski Swap through planning, logistics, day-of coordination and set-up.
• Recommend strategies for recruiting volunteers.
• Identify areas for volunteer support.
• Brainstorm innovative ideas on how to improve volunteer registration.
• Coordinate volunteer break schedules to optimize coverage as needed in various areas of the Ski Swap.
• Assist with training of new volunteers.
• Gather customer feedback and provide suggestions and recommendations back to the Ski Swap committee for event improvement.
• Communicate with student volunteers through MS Teams to keep them updated on Ski Swap training sessions and volunteer opportunities.

2. Marketing/Comms/Social Media Assistant

We are looking to fill 3 positions with one or two Sophomores or Freshmen. The ideal student will be willing to make a commitment to continue in the role in subsequent years and be creative and detail-oriented.

Job description: This role combines design and content creation to help promote Newport Ski Swap - video, photos, and social media interest and experience preferred. Create engaging social media content to post on Instagram and Facebook.

• Work with Ski Swap Marketing to create a social media calendar and regularly schedule engaging content. Frequency will increase as we get closer to the actual event.
• Use design software (Canva, Illustrator, etc.) to create promotional content to use online or in print.
• Work alongside the Ski Swap Chair to ensure content is informative and appealing.
• Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments/inquiries.
• Identify and conduct outreach to local ski schools, PTSAs and complimentary businesses to promote ski swap (usually done through email).

3. Operations/Merchandising Assistant (Auxiliary Gym)

We are looking to fill positions with a Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman. The ideal student will be willing to make a commitment to continue in the role in subsequent years.

Job description: This role will ensure our winter sports apparel is displayed to sell! From base layer thermals to showcasing vintage jackets & pants, your eye for detail and fashion will elevate the ski swap shopping experience.

• Strong visual and spatial awareness with a knack for styling and presentation.
• Assist in inventory management, including receiving and unloading inventory.
• Ensure products are kept in an orderly and attractive manner.
• Using store layout and customer flow information to optimize product placement.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including assisting customers in locating specific items.
